What We Offer
Inspiring Classes for Young Performers
From little Ballerinas to Senior dancers, explore our variety of dance and performance opportunities available to students at Hayley Beeson School of Dance.
BALLET
Ballet classes follow the IDTA syllabus. We encourage our dancers to develop poise, confidence, and a positive “can-do” attitude. Ballet is a beautiful means of expression but equally a form of dance where strength, discipline and correct technique is learnt which make Ballet a valuable skill to learn.
CONTEMPORARY
This is an expressive form of dance that strives to connect the mind and body with fluid movements. Contemporary combines multiple genres of dance and a wonderful class for our dancers who love many styles of movement. Classes follow the NATD syllabus as well as Cunningham and Limon inspired technique.
STREET DANCE
An energetic class where dancers learn dynamic routines from current and Old Skool music. Lots of focus is on timing, power and accuracy of movement and of course showing fun and cheeky attitudes when performing a routine.
SENIOR COMMERCIAL DANCE
A current form of dance recognised from music videos and concerts. These classes demonstrate sass, confidence and power.
MUSICAL THEATRE JAZZ DANCE
Incorporating Jazz technique, influenced by renowned Musicals, West End Shows and iconic choreographers. A real performance based class for those who love to be on stage!
PROGRESSING BALLET TECHNIQUE
Hayley Beeson School of Dance is proud to be a certified school in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT). It is in an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program that has been designed to enhance students’ technique by focusing on training the muscle memory required in each exercise in all forms of dance. It is a unique training system using Ballet technique specific exercises to train skill acquisition in a graded and progressive manner from junior to advanced levels.
FLEXIBILITY AND CONDITIONING CLASSES
Designed for our dancers over aged 10, this limbering and class is essential for those who want to advance in their aesthetic ability in all forms of dance. Flexibility only comes with consistency but must be approached correctly. Strength building is also a key part to these sessions in order to maintain good flexibility safely.
SHOWS AND PERFOMANCES
Throughout the year many classes taught at HBSD have opportunities to perform. We feel it is important for our students to have a goal, something to look forward to and work towards. The thrill of performing on stage is an amazing award and achievement. At HBSD we have a great history of performances including performing at The British Grand Prix in Silverstone as part of the opening ceremony, various community events and beautiful theatres such as The Theatre Royal, Brighton. Our annual Summer School show is always the highlight of the year where our dancers get to perform in many iconic and new works created by our fabulous team of teachers.
WORKSHOPS
From West End Musical stars to stage makeup professionals our dancers have opportunities to take part in a range of workshop days, mainly offered in school holiday breaks. We have a growing group of ex-students who return from the UKs leading Vocational schools as professional dancers who deliver spectacular workshops in various styles of dance. It is a wonderful opportunity for our young dancers to see these dancers return to us to share their expertise.
